My Time With VMware

  • Recently promoted to Design Lead of Developer Portal working with 9 teams and 5 designers.
  • Led design for Developer Tooling from POC to Alpha, Beta, and then GA.
  • Unified design across the Tanzu Application Tools program.
    • Organized our 3-team program to review and collaborate.
    • Guided teams implementing the 8 Steps (VMware Design’s version of Design Thinking Loop).
  • Led VMware community ambassador team to work on Remote Community Building activities.
  • Promoted Design Thinking through VMware Design Thinking special interest group, and held office hours to teach techniques.
  • Completed LUMA Certification course in Human Centered Design.
  • Learned how to deploy and manage a Kubernetes cluster.

My Time With IBM

  • I worked on nearly all of our Storage products.
  • I created the way our team tracked and interacted with our customers.
    • …and started a grass-roots effort to encourage design research and collaboration, which grew into a company-wide 1,000+ person resource.
  • Championed Design at IBM by…
    • Led a training initiative that graduated 48+ to next Design Thinking practitioner level & trained 9 “coaches” to teach teams Design Thinking.
    • Instructed teams (not just my own!) through Design Thinking workshops & knowledge badges.
    • Instructed 9 individuals through Design Thinking badge courses.
  • Former Volunteer Outreach Council Board Member (grants & donations).
  • Bronze Volunteer Award (100+ hours in 1 year as a Wish Granter with Make-A-Wish!).
